Frantoi SAMA was founded in the heart of Sicily, in Regalbuto, a land rich in olive groves, citrus orchards, and rich fields of wheat, once a thriving reserve of Ancient Rome. Passion and love for the land are the cornerstones of the founding mill members.

Our plants have their roots in fertile soil, rich in minerals, which provide with Frantoi SAMA extra virgin olive oil a unique and unmistakable flavor. Each olive grows under the watchful eye of expert olive growers, who follow traditional cultivation methods passed down from generation to generation.
The hills of the Sicilian hinterlandkissed by the sun and caressed by the Mediterranean wind, they represent the beating heart of our olive groves. It is here, among the lush valleys and breathtaking landscapes, that we grow our olives with passion and respect for nature.
Our olive groves extend over lands of extraordinary beauty and variety, located at different altitudes ranging from 500 meters in the Sparacollo area up to 800 meters above sea level in the Buscemi district, on the slopes of the suggestive Nebrodi Mountains. This altimetric diversity is a fundamental element that gives our olive oil a rich and unique aromatic profile.
At lower altitudes, such as in the Sparacollo area, the milder climate and proximity to Lake Pozzillo—the largest artificial lake in Sicily—create a favorable microclimate that enhances the oil's sweetness and roundness. The olive groves bordering the lake also benefit from natural humidity, which contributes to a balanced maturation of the olives, giving the oil soft and persistent notes.
Going up towards the Buscemi district, at 800 metres above sea level, the olive groves overlook the Nebrodi, immersed in an uncontaminated landscape rich in biodiversity. Here, the cooler temperatures and the temperature range between day and night intensify the aromas and phenolic concentration of the olives, giving our oil a marked intensity, a more decisive fruitiness, and greater sensorial complexity.
Each olive grove, thanks to its specific terroir, helps make our extra virgin olive oil an authentic product, a living expression of the territory and its nuances. The combination of altitude, exposure, climate, and agricultural tradition makes every drop of our oil a journey through the landscapes and aromas of the Sicilian hinterland.
We harvest our olives by hand, selecting only the finest fruit. This approach, respectful of the tree and the environment, allows us to preserve the olives' organoleptic qualities.
The cold milling, carried out with stone millstones, guarantees an extra virgin olive oil with a pure and authentic flavour. Each phase of production, from harvesting to pressing, takes place locally, preserving the deep connection with the territory.
