Frantoi Sama awarded at Olio Officina Festival 2025

Frantoi Sama received another important recognition in the Gourmet Oils with Packaging category during the fourteenth edition of Olio Officina Festival 2025. The national event, created and strongly supported by Luigi Caricato, was an important opportunity to reaffirm and promote the importance of extra virgin olive oil on the national scene, placing strong emphasis on the way the product is presented to consumers.

Olio Officina has always been attentive to packaging and has been organizing a competition for years for the various packaging styles for oils and vinegars. The competition, appropriately called "The Shapes of Oil," was specifically designed to highlight what has become a significant factor in the spread of this important food in recent years.

The fourteenth edition, titled "Oil and the Sea," took place in the splendid setting of the cotton warehouses in Genoa's old port. It was an interesting three-day event, featuring key figures from the olive oil and olive growing sectors. The various speakers offered many insights in a vast and interesting program.

Frantoi Sama was awarded a silver medal in the Gourmet Oils with Packaging category. Frantoi Sama Co-Founder Massimo Maccarrone accepted the award. During his speech, Maccarrone emphasized how, in the current highly competitive EVO oil market, it is important to pair a high-quality product with equally high-quality packaging that can appeal to the end consumer.

During his speech, Engineer Maccarrone reiterated the importance of presenting gourmet oil appropriately to differentiate it from what is too often considered a predictable commodity. While it's true that olive oil is part of the Italian culinary tradition, it's also important to emphasize that gourmet EVO oils represent the evolution of a product that can no longer be considered merely a condiment but rather a food that, when used raw, complements dishes with unique characteristics.

Donna Letizia, Donna Cuncetta, and Donna Nina attracted the jury's interest thanks to their elegance and the common thread that binds them: the three bottles are part of the "Stories of Oil" collection, expertly narrated by the effigies created by artist Claudia Sassano and brought to the bottles thanks to the work of the Passaparola agency.
